On the 11th of August, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced successful registration of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 vaccine.

After the approval from the Russian Health Ministry, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced Russia to be the first Country to launch vaccine for the deadly Novel Coronavirus infection.

Mr. Putin shared the news through Twitter after a meeting.  He thanked everyone who worked on the first vaccine against the Novel Coronavirus. 

The Russian President said, ” I hope we will be able to start mass production of this medication in the near future, which is very important.”

 

President Putin also said he tried the vaccine on one of his daughters.

Mr. Putin said, “In this sense, she took part in the experiment. After the first vaccination, she had a body temperature of 38 degrees Celsius, while the following day it was slightly over 37 degrees Celsius, that’s it. After the second injection, the second vaccination, her temperature also rose a little, and then everything cleared up, she feels good and the [antibody] titers are high.”

Meanwhile with the successful approval of vaccine, Russia is hoping to start mass production soon.

Mikhail Murashko, the Health Minister of Russia said, the first Russian vaccine against the COVID-19 infection would begin to be produced at two sites, the Gamaleya Research Institute and the Binnopharm Company.

Till date,  Russia has a total of 8,97,599 positive cases with  4,945 new cases in the last 24 hours.

Russia is the fourth largest worst COVID-19 hit country globally. 

The other three countries affected badly of the Novel Coronavirus are: the United States of America (U.S.A., ) with 5,251,997 cases, followed by Brazil 3,057,470 and India 2,271,587.
