K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, held a review meeting with officials on the 13th of June. While reviewing the Palle and Pattana Pragathi programmes, KCR decided to take a district and showcase development in that district himself.

Expressing serious concern about the low progress of the Palle and Pattana Pragathi Programme, which aims at the development and progress of urban areas and rural areas, KCR made the announcement. The Telangana CM expressed disappointment over the low development of urban areas and districts. He said, “I will also adopt a district and see how work can be done. Additional Collectors and I will work together. We will show how development can be achieved.”

Lashing out at officials, CM KCR said, “It became a habit for us to ignore the ground realities. We have a lot of work to do in our vicinity. It is not proper to ignore the work to be done in the neighbourhood and trying to take up a work away. Work hard for six months and see how villages and urban areas develop. If you do your work with utmost dedication, results will come for sure.” He further added, “The Government is releasing funds every month for Palle and Pattana Pragathi. We have filled up all vacancies in the panchayat raj department. You have required staff and funds. What else do you want? Can any other government do anything more than this? Hence, you should not show any laxity and become victims of punishment. The working of collectors will be assessed by their personal appraisal reports.”

In addition, during the meeting KCR announced to visit Siddipet and Kamareddy on the 20th of June and Warangal on the 21st of June. During his Warangal visit, K. Chandrashekar Rao would inaugurate the Warangal District Collectorate and would lay a foundation stone to the proposed multi super specialty hospital. The decision to inaugurate a multi super specialty hospital was taken in the wake of the ongoing second wave of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.) The new hospital with basic infrastructure and medical equipment would strengthen the health sector in the State.

The meeting was attended by district officials, collectors and other senior leaders of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.)
