Telangana COVID-19 Update: With Lowest 231 New Cases And 2 Deaths Active Cases Below 6,500

In the past 24 hours, Telangana witnessed a total of 231 new Wuhan virus cases, also known as the Novel Coronavirus cases. This is the lowest number of cases reported in the past 10 days with 2 deaths and 453 recoveries from the deadly virus.

The Wuhan virus active cases with such a low number of new cases have now been reduced to 6,384. With this, Telangana now has 6,54,989 positive cases, of which 6,384 are active cases, 6,44,747 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,858 are deceased.

The figures of the COVID-19 infection were released through a media bulletin. On the evening of the 22nd of August, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updates about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana.

The new cases were confirmed after conducting 46,987 COVID-19 tests of samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.39 crores till date.

According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Rangareddy, Warangal and Karimnagar. The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (66) cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Karimnagar (22) and Rangareddy with 19 cases.

Meanwhile, despite a slight fall in the COVID-19 cases, the active containment zones increased to 19 from the previous 18 zones, with no micro containment zones in Hyderabad.

However, the recovery rate of Telangana improved to 98.43% from the previous 98.40% and the fatality rate of COVID-19 remained constant at 0.58 %.

It is to be noted, of the total active cases, 79.90 % cases are asymptomatic, whereas, only 20.10 % are symptomatic.
