Telangana CS Somesh Kumar Visists Vaccination Drive Centre In Uppuguda, Urges People To Get Doses

The Telangana Chief Secretary (CS) Mr. Somesh Kumar visited a vaccination centre at Pariwar Township of Uppuguda in Hyderabad.  The visit was to ensure the special vaccination drive launched with an aim of vaccinating 100 % population of the City, continues smoothly.

On the 25th of August, during the visit to Uppuguda, Mr. Somesh Kumar urged people of Hyderabad and the area to get their Novel Coronavirus vaccine doses.  Hee also requested public representatives to motivate people to get vaccinated to make Hyderabad a hundred percent vaccinated City.

Upon enquiring about about the pace of vaccination in the area, Mr. Somesh Kumar was informed by the officials that door-to-door survey is completed and eligible persons who are yet to receive first dose have been identified for being covered in today’s vaccination camp in the colony.  In addition, the local representatives assured the chief secretary that 100 percent vaccination will be done in this area by the end of this month.

On the 23rd of August, the Telangana Rashtra hi (TRS) Government, launched the special vaccination drive.  In regard to this, the State Government organised massive vaccination drives in 5,200 localities under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits and Secunderabad Cantonment Board limits. 

In addition to the established vaccine drives in 5,200 localities, the State Government is going to run 175 mobile vaccine vehicle drives, which would run on wheels to vaccinate a large population of Hyderabad.  A total of 4,182 personnel are deployed from GHMC and 1,639 from Health department. 594 vehicles have been pressed into service for mobile vaccination at colony level.

Each mobile vaccine vehicle and vaccination centre would have two vaccinators and a data entry operator.  To create awareness regarding the massive vaccination drive, the State Government has started campaigns, audio announcements and put up hoardings and banners in every locality.

The massive vaccination drive started from the 23rd of August and is likely to continue for the next 10 days, aiming for 100 % vaccination of citizens of Hyderabad
