Telangana Health Director Warns Telangana People About COVID-19, Says 2nd Wave Is More Intense From 1st

Telangana is witnessing a surge in the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases since the past few weeks. In the past two days, the State reported more than 3,000 cases of COVID-19. 

On the 6th of April, the State reported 1,900 plus new cases of COVID-19 and on the 7th of April, the cases stood at 1,914. With this, Telangana recorded 3,16,649 positive cases, of which 1,734 are deceased cases, 3,03,298 are recovered/discharged cases and 11,617 are active cases. Of the 11k active cases, 6,634 are in home isolation and the remaining 4,983 are in institutional care.

Concerned about the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, the Telangana Health Department urged people to follow the guidelines of COVID-19. Dr. G. Srinivas Rao, the Director of the Telangana Health Department, warned the citizens of Telangana to be cautious about the second wave of COVID-19. He said, the second wave is more in intensity compared to the first wave of the Novel Coronavirus.

Dr. G. Srinivas Rao said in the last three months, people neglected wearing masks, maintaining social distance which led to the spike in the Novel Coronavirus Cases. He said, “If the cases rise further, there would be great pressure on the health department which can also cause a great loss to the public health.”

The Telangana Health Department said, if the people do not want another lockdown or night curfew, they should follow the COVID-19 guidelines.
