On the 16th of April, the Telangana Health Minister Eatala Rajender clarified the take of the State Government over lockdown and night curfew.
Unlike other states, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) led Telangana Government is not planning any lockdown or night curfew. Amid a rapid surge in the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases, the K. Chandrashekar Rao led Government is not in favour of a lockdown.
During a press meet at Huzurabad, Dr. Eatala Rajender said, “People have to be careful and should follow the protective measures when stepping out of the house.”
Mr. Eatala Rajender directed private hospitals authority not to charge exorbitant prices from the people for the treatment. He also advised farmers to follow precautionary measures while going to the paddy procurement centres in the State.
Meanwhile, Telangana has 3,41,885 positive cases, of which 3,09,594 are recovered/discharged cases, 30,494 active cases and 1,797 deceased cases.
In addition, the case fatality and recovery rates in Telangana stood at 0.52 % and 90.55 % respectively
