Eatala Rajender, the Health Minister of Telangana, on the 9th of November said, the State is prepared for the second wave of COVID-19 or Novel Coronavirus.
The Telangana health department is prepared to meet any exigencies in case Telangana State witnesses a second wave of Covid-19 infections in the coming months, Health Minister Eatala Rajender said on Monday. “For the past month or so, we have been preparing for such eventualities. Our healthcare workers, right from doctors, nurses to non-clinical staff are fully prepared to meet the rise in demand for health care services, in case of a second wave,” Rajender said while interacting with Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan through a video conference.
The conference was held on the 9th of November to update and review the COVID-19 situation of Telangana.
Mr. Rajender said, “COVID-19 diagnostic tests including RT-PCR and rapid antigen tests are available in all District, Area Hospitals, CHCs, PHCs and even in sub-centres. There is no shortage in supply of Oxygen and hospitals have enough stock of oxygen supply. We have strengthened infrastructure and manpower for any emergencies.”
The Telangana Health Minister urged Dr Harsh Vardhan to provide a roadmap on distribution of Covid-19 vaccines. He said, “We request you to provide us with guidelines and a roadmap on the way the Covid-19 vaccines can be distributed.”
Senior health officials from the State including Director of Public Health (DPH), Dr G.Srinivasa Rao, Director of Medical Education (DME), Dr K. Ramesh Reddy and COVID-19 expert committee members were present.
