On the 27th of July, Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, tested negative for the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.
After eight of his staffs including a watchman and bodyguards, contracted COVID-19 on the 26th of July, Mr. Rao took the COVID-19 infection test.
Mr. Rao immediately underwent self isolation and asked the people who met him to do the same.
The next day, Errabelli tested negative and announced he is not infected by he virus.
However, as a precautionary measure Mr. Rao would be self quarantined for two weeks.
According to reports, all the personnel working for the minister have been undergoing treatment at different hospitals in Hyderabad.
Responding to the social media claims over his testing positive for COVID-19 which triggered panic among his employees, relatives and other people who met him in recent times, the Minister said that all those claims were not true.
Mr. Erabelli said that he would make an announcement if he got infected with the virus and asked people not to panic.
In the past month, many leaders of the ruling Government, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, Telangana reported a total of 55,532 cases of the Novel Coronavirus.
