Telangana Registers Highest 887 New COVID-19 Cases, Active Cases Cross 5k

The Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases are on rise in Telangana. In the past 24 hours, the State reported nearly 887 new COVID-19 cases.  

With this, the total active cases crossed 5k in the State. In addition to the new cases, Telangana reported 4 deaths and only 337 recovered/discharged cases.

In 2021, Telangana’s everyday spike was below 200. However, in the past few weeks, the cases are rising with massive numbers. On the 31st of March, Telangana reported 694 new cases and today, the 1st of April, single day spike is at 887. Of the total 887 new cases, the highest cases are from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with 201 cases, followed by 79 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 78 from Nirmal, 76 from Rangareddy, 56 from Jagtial, 45 from Nizamabad, 36 from Sangareddy, 27 from Kamareddy, 23 each from Warangal Urban and Karimnagar and 22 from Mahabubnagar. The remaining cases were 21 each from Siddipet and Nalgonda, 16 from Khammam, 13 from Adilabad, 12 from Vikarabad, 11 from Mancherial, 10 each from Wanaparthy and Suryapet, 9 each from Peddapalli, Jangaon, Medak and Warangal Rural, 7 each from Nagarkurnool and Komarambheem Asifabad, 6 each from Jogulamba Gadwal, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Narayanpet, 5 from Jayashankar Bhupalpally and 2 cases from Mulugu

With this, Telangana has 3,08,776 positive cases, of which 5,511 active cases, 1,701 deceased cases and 3,01,564 recovered/discharged cases. The updated data was confirmed by the State Health Department through a media bulletin, which releases regularly.

Meanwhile, between the 31st of March and 1st of April, the State Health Department conducted 59,297 tests for COVID-19. The cumulative total of tests conducted in Telangana stand at 1,02,10,906.

In addition, Telangana has a recovery rate of 97.8 % and fatality rate at 0.55 %.
