Telangana Reports 1,498 New COVID-19 Cases With 6 Fatalities, Total Surge 3.14 Lakhs

For the third consecutive day, Telangana Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases crossed 1,000 cases.

In the past 24 hours, Telangana reported 1,498 new cases of COVID-19. Of the new cases, the highest number of cases were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) with 313 new cases, followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri with 164 infections, Nizamabad with 142 cases, 128 cases from Rangareddy district and another 85 new infections from Nirmal district. The remaining cases were 26 from Adilabad, 9 from Bhadradri, 60 from Jagtial, 16 Jangaon, 7 from Bhupalpally, 9 from Gadwal, 8 from Kamareddy, 46 from Karimnagar, 36 from Khammam, 7 from Asifabad, 22 from Mahabubnagar, 6 from Mahabubabad, 34 from Mancherial, 21 from Medak, 5 from Mulugu, 16 from Nagarkurnool, 45 from Nalgonda, six from Narayanpet, 22 from Peddapalli, 43 from Siricilla, 29 from Sangareddy, 19 from Siddipet, 42 from Suryapet, 25 from Vikarabad, 16 from Wanaparthy, 62 Warangal Urban and 29 from Yadadri.

In addition to 1,498 new cases, Telangana also witnessed 6 fatalities and 245 recoveries from the deadly virus.

On the other hand, between the 4th and the 5th of April, the State Health Department conducted 62,350 sample tests for COVID-19, taking the cumulative total to 1,04, 98,347 tests in the State. 

With all the information from the media bulletin, Telangana has 3,14,735 positive cases, of which 9,993 active cases (of which 5,323 cases are under home quarantine.) There are 3,03,013 recovered/discharged cases and 1,729 deceased cases.

Telangana has a recovery rate of 96.27 % and fatality rate stands at 0.54 %.

Meanwhile, according to another media release, over 12.80 lakh people in Telangana have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine while over 2.66 lakh got their second shot of the vaccine.
