Telangana Reports 1,764 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Crosses 58,000

The Telangana Government, on the night of the 28th of July, released a media bulletin and briefed about the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases.

In the last 24 hours, Telangana recorded 1,764 new Covid-19 cases with 12 fatalities.

Out of the 1,764 new Covid-19 infections, areas under GHMC reported 509 positive cases while Medchal Malkajgiri has witnessed a surge with 158 infections in a single day. As many as 147 positive cases were reported from Rangareddy and 138 from Warangal Urban.

The Covid-19 positive cases reported from other districts include 15 from Adilabad, 30 from Bhadradri, 12 from Jagatiyal, 13 from Jangaon, 8 from Bhupalpally, 22 from Gadwal, 10 from Kamareddy, 93 from Karimnagar, 69 from Khammam, 6 from Komarambheem Asifabad, 47 from Mahabubnagar, 9 from Mahabubabad, 28 from Mancherial, 23 from Medak, 17 from Mulugu, 29 from Nagarkurnool, 51 from Nalgonda, 7 from Narayanpet, 8 from Nirmal, 47 from Nizamabad, 44 from Peddapalli, 13 from Siricilla, 89 from Sangareddy, 21 from Siddipet, 38 from Suryapet, seven from Vikarabad, four from Wanaparthy, 41 from Warangal Rural and 11 positive cases from Yadadri Bhongir.

With this, the total number of positive cases in Telangana stands at 58,906, of which 14,663 are active cases, 43,751 recovered/discharged.

The total number of deceased in the State are 492.

Of the total 14,663 active cases, 9,178 are under home isolation and the remaining 5,485 positive cases are under institutional care. 

Authorities said that 84 per cent of the positive cases who are under home isolation are asymptomatic cases in Telangana.

Between Monday and Tuesday night, according to the daily health bulletin, 842 persons have recovered.  According to the Health authorities, the recovery rate in the State is better than neighbour Telugu State, Andhra Pradesh.

Telangana’s recovery rate is 74.30 % and COVID-19 recovery rate of Andhra Pradesh is 47.07 %.

In the past 24 hours, Telangana conducted 18, 858 sample tests for COVID-19. 

Overall, the State conducted 3,97,939 Covid-19 tests till date. Of the total, results of 788 samples are yet to come.
