Telangana Reports 1,896 New COVID-19 Cases

The Telangana Medical department, on the night of the 10th of August, released a media bulletin regarding the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases.

According to the Telangana Health Department’s bulletin, 1,896 new cases with 8 new fatalities of the  COVID-19 infection. 

Of the total 1,896 cases, 14 were from Adilabad, 60 from Bhadradri, 338 from areas under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation ( GHMC.)

Till the 11th of August, this is the 11th consecutive day with a spike with more than 1,000 cases. 

On the morning of the 8th of August, 2,256 cases were registered in a day and on the 10th of August, the single day spike was 1,256.

On the 11th of August, with 1,896 new cases, the total reached 82,647 cases.  With 8 new fatalities, the total stands at 645.  In addition, with 1,788 numbers, total recovered cases reported till date are 59,374.

With these updates, Telangana has 82,674 positive cases, of which 22,628 are active cases, 59,374 are recovered/discharged cases and 645 deceased. 

Out of the 22,628 patients, 15,554 patients are under home isolation and 7,074 are in institutional care.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Health authorities conducted 18,035 tests till the night of the 10th of August. 

Of the total 18,035 tests, COVID-19 results of  959 samples are pending.

So far, 6,42,875 samples have been tested for the Novel Coronavirus infection in Telangana. 

With the everyday spike in the Novel Coronavirus cases, the recovery rate in Telangana is now 71.84 % from the previous 71.13%.

In addition, mortality rate is 0.80% and growth rate to 2.80 % from the previous 2.70%.
