Telangana Reports 318 New Wuhan Virus Cases With 389 Recoveries And 2 Deaths

After reporting below 350 cases on Thursday, the single day cases of the Wuhan virus witnessed a slight rise the next day. On the 3rd of September, the State Health Department confirmed 318 new Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases. This is the third consecutive day when the number of single day Wuhan virus cases have been below 350.

In the past 24 hours, Telangana reported 318 single day cases of (COVID-19) with 2 deaths and 389 recoveries. With this, Telangana now has 6,59,007 positive cases, of which 5,736 are active cases, 6,49,391 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,880 are deceased. On the evening of the 1st of September, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updated about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana.

The new cases were confirmed after conducting 71,000 COVID-19 tests of samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.48 crores till date.

According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Rangareddy, Warangal and Karimnagar. The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (82,)cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Karimnagar with 23 cases.

It is to be noted, in the South Indian region, Telangana is the only state with low single day cases of the Wuhan virus. Other states like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the COVID-19 situation is risky with a high number of cases. However, with the efforts of the Telangana Government and constant review meetings, the COVID-19 situation in the State is said to be under control. The K. Chandrashekar Rao led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) controlled the second wave and now is preparing for the possible third wave of the deadly virus.

In addition, the recovery rate of Telangana improved to 98.54% from the previous 98.52 % and the fatality rate of COVID-19 remained onstant for the past 20 days at 0.58 %.

It is to be noted, of the total active cases, 79.90 % cases are asymptomatic, whereas, only 20.10 % are symptomatic.
