Telangana Reports 379 Fresh COVID-19 Cases, Total At 2.88 Lakhs

Till the 7th of January, the Telangana Health Department confirmed a total of 2,88,789 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

According to the released media bulletin updating the COVID-19 situation, the State reported 379 fresh cases of the infection.

Of the total 379 cases, the highest number of cases were reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) 71 cases, followed by 37 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 36 from Rangareddy, 19 from Karimnagar and 14 from Warangal Urban.

The remaining cases were 12 each from Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mancherial, Nalgonda and Sangareddy, 11 from Jagtial, 9 each from Nizamabad and Kamareddy, 8 each from Suryapet, Rajanna Sircilla, 7 each from Adilabad, Komarambheem Asifabad, Mahabubnagar, Peddapalli and Warangal Urban, 6 each from Jangaon, Mahabubabad, Medak, Siddipet, 5 each from Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Vikarabad, 4 each from Jogulamba Gadwal, Nagarkurnool and Wanaparthy, 3 from Nirmal and 1 from Narayanpet.

In addition to 379 fresh COVID-19 cases, the State registered 305 recovered/discharged cases and 3 deaths.

Meanwhile, in between the 5th and the 6th of January, the State Health Department conducted 41,426 tests for COVID-19, of which 18,148 were on primary contacts and 4,949 on secondary contacts.

The results of 453 samples for COVID-19 tests are pending. So far, 71,45,613 tests have been conducted in Telangana.

With the aforementioned data, Telangana has 2,88,789 positive cases, of which 2,82,177 are recovered/discharged cases, 5,053 are active cases and 1,559 are deceased cases.

In addition, the recovery rate of Telangana from COVID-19 stood at 97.70 % and fatality rate is at 0.53 %.
