Telangana reported as many as 3,961 new cases of the Wuhan virus also known as Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the past 24 hours.
This is the third consecutive day that the cases reported a decline below 4,000 cases.
In addition to the 3,961 cases, the State reported 5,559 recoveries and 30 deaths due to the Wuhan virus. Recently, after the Telangana Government imposed a lockdown, the State witnessed a dip in the regular cases. Previously, the cases were above 6,000, but it decreased to below 4,000 cases. Top four districts with the highest number of the Wuhan virus are: the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) Rangareddy, Medchal Malkajgiri and Sangareddy.
In addition, the Telangana Medical Department conducted 62,000 sample tests in the past 24 hours.
The updated data of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) was released through a media bulletin. On the night of the 17th of May, the Telangana Health Department released the bulletin. According to the released bulletin, currently, Telangana has 5,32,784 positive cases, of which 49,341 are active cases, 4,80,458 are recovered/discharged cases andand 2,985 are deceased cases.
Meanwhile, as of Monday, 6,926 beds were vacant in government hospitals, of which 2,253 were oxygen beds, 533 ICU beds and 4,140 general beds. Also, so far, 57,30,220 doses of Wuhan virus or COVID-19 vaccines have reached Telangana from the Centre and presently the state has 1.86 lakh doses (both Covaxin and Covishield.)
Telangana has a recovery rate of 90.17 % and the fatality rate is at 0.56 %.
