Telangana Reports 578 COVID-19 Cases With 3 Deaths, Active Cases Below 10,000

Active Wuhan virus cases (Novel Coronavirus) in Telangana are now below 1000 with 578 new cases.

The State is constantly reporting below 800 cases of the Wuhan virus. This is the 10th consecutive day that the State reported below 800 cases, after reporting more than 1,000 cases in 24 hours.

According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) regions, areas of Khammam district, Rangareddy and Nalgonda. The GHMC region reported the highest number of COVID-19 (75,) followed by 53 in Karimnagar and 43 in Khammam. Rangareddy, which was reporting close to 40 single day cases of COVID-19, reported only 16 new cases in the past 24 hours.

On the 18th of July, the Telangana Health Ministry released a media bulletin and update about the COVID-19 situation in the State. As per the media bulletin, Telangana reported 578 new cases, 3 fatalities and 731 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

The new cases were confirmed after conducting COVID-19 tests of 90,996 samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.05 crores (2,05,29,888) till date.

However, it is to be noted, the State is constantly reporting below 1,000 cases, especially after the Telangana Government imposed a strict lockdown.

With this, Telangana now has 6,36,627 positive cases of the Wuhan virus, of which 9,824 are active cases, 6,23,044 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,759 are deceased cases.

With this, the recovery rate of Telangana improved to 97.86% from the previous 97.83 % recovery rate. In addition, the fatality rate of COVID-19 remains stable at 0.58 %.

Meanwhile, compared to the previous 48 containment zones, there are 35 active containment zones in Telangana.

In addition, the Telangana Director of Health and Public Welfare G. Srinivasa urged people to take caution and follow all the guidelines of COVID-19. Concerned about the change in weather and current situation, the Telangana Director of Health and Public Welfare department released a statement. The statement read, “If symptoms related to COVID-19 are observed, please report to the nearest government health facility and seek the required health services without any delay. People with co-morbid conditions are also requested to stay indoors and avoid any kind of travel except for medical care in order to avoid exposure to the virus.”

Meanwhile, a total of 1.32 crore people in the State were administered the COVID-19 vaccine doses till date.
