Telangana Health Department on the night of the 22nd of November, released a media bulletin, updating about the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 situation in the State.
According to the media bulletin, Telangana reported 602 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus, 3 deaths and 1,015 recovered/discharged cases.
Of the total new cases, the highest number of cases were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC,) (129,) followed by Rangareddy (62,) Medchal-Malkajgiri (60) and Karimnagar (51.)
The remaining cases were 34 from Jagtial, 27 from Warangal Urban, 25 from Bhadradri Kothagudem, 24 from Sangareddy, 21 from Nalgonda, 18 each from Mancherial and Suryapet, 16 from 11 from Mahabubabad, 10 each from Nagarkurnool and Mahabubnagar, 9 from Warangal Rural, 8 from Mulugu, 6 each from Nizamabad and Rajanna Sircilla, 5 each from Jogulamba Gadwal, Medak and Peddapalli, 4 each from Vikarabad, Wanaparthy, 3 each from Nirmal, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Kamareddy and Adilabad, 2 each from Jangaon and Yadadri Bhongir and 1 case each from Komarambheem Asifabad, Narayanpet.
Though the Telangana High Court asked the State Government to conduct more than 50,000 tests for COVID-19 in the State, the State Government conducted only 25,000 tests. Recently, disappointed with the low COVID-19 tests in the State, the Telangana High Court, directed the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government to increase the number of everyday tests and also submit a report a file regarding the same.
In between the 21st and 22nd of November, the Telangana Health Department conducted 24,139 tests including 10,621 primary contacts and 2,896 secondary contacts. Results of 281 tests are yet to come.
Till date, the Telangana Health Department conducted 51,58,474 COVID-19 tests in the State.
With the aforementioned updates, Telangana has 2,64,128 positive cases, of which 2,51,468 are recovered/discharged cases, 11,227 are active cases and 1,433 are deceased cases.
