The Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases recorded in Telangana showed a massive single day rise with 6,876 new cases.
In the past 24 hours, the Telangana Health Ministry confirmed 6,876 fresh COVID-19 cases, 7,432 recovered/discharged cases and 59 casualties.
Of the total new COVID-19 cases, once again, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 1,029, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri with 502 cases and Rangareddy with 387.
The data and COVID-19 figures were updated by the Telangana Government through a media bulletin. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government releases the media bulletin every day at 8:00 P.M., to update the situation of COVID-19 in the State with figures.
According to the released bulletin, Telangana has 4,63,361 active cases, of which 3,81,365 cases are recoveries, 79,520 are active cases and deceased.
In addition, close to 71,000 samples were tested for the Novel Coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours. With this, till date the Telangana Health Department conducted a total of 1.31 crore sample tests. Telangana also has the recovery rate from COVID-19 at 82.30 % and fatality rate at 0.53 %.
Meanwhile, on the 3rd of May, the Telangana Government decided to conduct a door to door survey to identify COVID-19 patients. The survey would be conducted by a team of concerned medical staff within the GHMC limits, which has the highest number of COVID-19 cases. In this regard, the Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar conducted a meeting with district officials and other medical officials.
