Telangana Reports 746 COVID-19 Cases With 5 Deaths, Total At 6.37 Lakhs

Active Wuhan virus cases (Novel Coronavirus) in Telangana are now below 1000 with 746 new cases.

In the past 24 hours, Telangana reported 746 new cases, 5 fatalities and 726 recoveries in the past 24 hours. Since the past 10 days, Telangana is constantly reporting below 800 cases of the Wuhan virus.

According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Khammam district, Rangareddy and Nalgonda. The GHMC region reported the highest number of COVID-19 (71) cases in the past 24 hours. The single day Wuhan virus cases in other districts were below 50.

With this, Telangana now has 6,37,373 positive cases, of which 9,836 are active cases, 6,23,773 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,764 are deceased cases. The new cases were confirmed after conducting COVID-19 tests of 1,20,165 samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.06 crores till date.

The recovery rate of Telangana remained constant to 97.86% and the fatality rate of COVID-19 was at 0.58 %.

The aforementioned data was confirmed through a media bulletin, released regularly to update about the COVID-19 situation in the State.

Meanwhile, compared to the previous 48 containment zones, there are 35 active containment zones with no micro containment zones in GHMC limits.

In addition, the Telangana Health Department is constantly reminding people of the State to be cautious and follow all the guidelines of COVID-19. Concerned about the change in weather and current situation, the Telangana Director of Health and Public Welfare also asked people to avoid social gatherings, outings in the wake of the possible third wave of the Wuhan virus.

Meanwhile, a total of 1.33 crore people in the State were administered the COVID-19 vaccine doses till date.
