The Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases are on a massive rise in Telangana. For the fourth consecutive day, the cases reported surged to 1,000.
According to the daily media bulletin released by the Telangana Health Department, the State reported 1,914 new COVID- 19 cases. Of the total new cases, the maximum number of cases were reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC.) One of the epicenters of the COVID-19 cases in Telangana, the GHMC reported 393 new COVID-19 cases, followed by Medak with 205 cases, 179 from Nizamabad, 169 from Rangareddy, 104 from Nirmal, 76 from Sangareddy, 68 from Jagtial, 64 from Kamareddy, 60 from Warangal Urban, 48 from Khammam, 42 from Siddipet and 40 from Nalgonda. Cases below 40 were, 37 from Mancherial, 36 from Mahabubnagar, 32 from Rajanna Sircilla, 31 from Suryapet, 29 from Adilabad, 25 each from Yadadri Bhongir and Vikarabad, 23 each from Medak and Peddapalli, 21 from Komarambheem Asifabad,18 from Nagarkurnool, 17 from Wanaparthy, 13 from Jangaon, 12 from Jogulamba Gadwal, 9 each from Warangal Rural and Mahabubabad, 8 from Narayanpet, 7 from Bhadradri Kothagudem, 6 from Mulugu and 5 from Jayashankar Bhupalpally.
In addition to the new cases, the media bulletin, released at 8:00 P.M., on the 6th of April, confirmed 5 deaths and 285 recoveries. The Telangana Health Department releases the media bulletin on a regular basis to update the people of the State about the COVID-19 situation of Telangana.
According to the bulletin, till date, Telangana recorded 3,16,649 positive cases, of which 1,734 are deceased cases, 3,03,298 are recovered/discharged cases and 11,617 are active cases. Of the 11k active cases, 6,634 are in home isolation and the remaining 4,983 are in institutional care.
Meanwhile, increasing the number of daily COVID-19 tests, the Telangana Health Department conducted 74,274 tests for the Novel Coronavirus in the past 24 hours. Of the total tested samples, reports of 3,202 are awaited. With this, till the 7th of April, Telangana conducted 1,05,72,621 COVID-19 tests.
In addition, the recovery rate of Telangana from COVID-19 stands at 96.80 % and fatality rate at 0.54 %.
