After reporting single day cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19,) below 500, the State of Telangana witnessed a spike in the cases.
On Tuesday evening, the 5th of July, Telangana reported 552 new cases with 496 recoveries and 0 deaths. On Tuesday, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updated about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana. The new cases were confirmed after conducting 25,913 COVID-19 tests of samples, taking the cumulative total to crores till date.
With this, Telangana now has 4,753 active cases, 7,94,510 are recovered/discharged cases and 4,111 are deceased.
According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Rangareddy, Warangal and Karimnagar. The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (316,)cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Rangareddy (51) and Medchal Malkajgiri with 36 cases.
In addition, the recovery rate of Telangana improved to 98.90%.
