With the constant fall in the single day cases of the Wuhah virus below 400, Telangana has a 98.50 % recovery rate.
In the past 24 hours, Telangana reported less than 300 single day cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and 400 above recoveries. The Telugu State registered 257 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death and 409 recoveries.
With the efforts of the Telangana Government and constant review meetings ,the COVID-19 situation in the State is said to be under control. The K. Chandrashekar Rao led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) controlled the second wave and now is preparing for the possible third wave of the deadly virus.
With this, Telangana now has 6,57,376 positive cases, of which 6,166 are active cases, 6,47,594 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,870 are deceased.
On the evening of the 28th of August, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updated about the COVID-19 situation in Telangana.
The new cases were confirmed after conducting 58,335 COVID-19 tests of samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.44 crores till date. Usually, on Sundays the number of single day COVID-19 tests are low compared to other days, when it is close to 90,000.
According to sources, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, areas of Rangareddy, Warangal and Karimnagar. The GHMC reported the highest number of COVID-19 (87) cases in the past 24 hours, followed by Rangareddy, Warangal Urban and Khammam with 18 cases each.
In addition, the recovery rate of Telangana improved to 98.50 % from the previous 98.48% for the second day and the fatality rate of COVID-19 remained constant for the past 10 days at 0.58 %.
It is to be noted, of the total active cases, 79.90 % cases are asymptomatic, whereas, only 20.10 % are symptomatic.
