Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan Takes COVID-19 Vaccination At Delhi Hospital

In the second phase of the Nationwide Novel Coronavirus drive, union ministers and political leaders are taking the COVID-19 vaccination.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan also took the vaccine. On the 2nd of March, Dr. Harsh Vardhan took the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine at Delhi Heart and Lung Institute.

Mr. Vardhan took to Twitter and said, “I request everyone to get vaccinated. After 28 days of the first dose, everyone should get their second dose. Do not worry if you experience minor side effects, but do let your doctors know.”

Along with the Union Health Minister, his wife also took the COVID-19 vaccination dose.

The second phase of the Novel Coronavirus vaccination drive started from the 1st of March. The first phase began on the 16th of January and continued till the 26th of February. In the first phase, nearly 1.45 crore healthcare workers were given doses of Novel Coronavirus disease. In the second phase which started from the 1st of March, government and private hospitals would administer COVID-19 vaccines to people above 60 years of age and 45 years old with comorbidities.

Registration for the COVID-19 vaccination doses started at 9:00 A.M. in respective states and union territories (UTs.)

However, doses given at government hospitals would be free of cost and vaccines available at private hospitals would be under Rs. 300.

In the second phase Mr. Modi led the Central Government aims to administer COVID-19 vaccinations to nearly 30 crore people.
