On the 10th of May, Virat Kohli, the India Cricket Team Captain, got the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination. The player took to the social media platform, Instagram and shared a story, an image while taking the first dose. 

He also urged people to get their vaccination against the COVID-19 infection as soon as possible. Virat Kohli on his Instagram story wrote, “Vaccinate as soon as you can please. Stay safe.”

Virat Kohli along with his wife Anushka Sharma contributed Rs. 2 crore towards a COVID-19 fundraiser. They said, “Grateful to everyone who has donated so far. Thank you for your contribution. We have crossed the halfway mark, let’s keep going.”

The goal of the fundraiser is to provide oxygen solutions, including concentrators and oxygen plants to hospitals across India, and also look at bolstering medical manpower, home care and help scale India’s vaccination efforts.

Besides Virat Kohli, actors and celebrities like Shikhar Dhawan, Ishant Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Jasleen Royal, Farhan Akhtar, Preity Zinta, Arbaaz Khan, Gurmeet Chaudhary, Pulkit Samrat, Sanjana Sanghi, Radhika Madan and others got their vaccination doses recently.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli would soon leave for England with Team India. The Team is scheduled to tour England for the World Test Championship (WTC) final versus New Zealand and 5 Tests starting from the 4th of August.
