Due to the increasing cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh, the Visakhapatnam Railways decided to impose certain restrictions.

On the 14th of April, the Visakhapatnam Railway officials announced a few arrangements for passengers at the Station. From now onwards, the entry and exit of the passengers would be different unlike the previous one gate. The passengers entering the Visakhapatnam Railway Station need to use Gate no. 8, the Ganapuram Gate and people exiting the Station would be using Gate number one. In addition, thermal screening and wearing a face mask would be mandatory for all the passengers.

Passengers were also advised to use sanitiser frequently and maintain social distancing to avoid any possible contact with the deadly infection. Speaking about the trains departing from the Visakhapatnam Railway Station, officials decided not to supply blankets and bed sheets in AC bogies and asked passengers to bring their own food, as there would be no pantry.

These issued guidelines for the Visakhapatnam Railway Station are due to the recent Second Wave of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

In the past few days, Andhra Pradesh has been reporting a massive number of the Novel Coronavirus cases. In the past 24 hours, the State registered 4,228, 10 deaths and 1,483 recoveries. With this, the new positive cases tally to 9,32,892 cases, of which 8,99,721 are recovery cases, 25,850 active cases and remaining are deceased cases in A.P.
