Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P.,) is likely to conduct a review meeting over the Wuhan virus situation in the State. 

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet ministers, the Medical Department officials and other senior staff would attend the meeting, scheduled on the 17th of May. The meeting is being held to review the ongoing curfew to curtail the spread of the Wuhan virus. With the imposed two week curfew close to an end, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) is likely to take a call regarding a lockdown.

The two weeks curfew is scheduled to end on the 18th of May.

According to sources, despite the imposed curfew, the State is witnessing more than 20 % active cases with massive single day cases. In the past few days, Andhra Pradesh is witnessing more than 20,000 Wuhan virus cases.

The concerned officials have also submitted a report to the YSRCP Government recommending a lockdown for a further 10 to 15 days.

The final decision regarding the lockdown would be taken after the meeting, scheduled today.

Meanwhile, with 24,171 new cases, Andhra Pradesh has 14,35,491 positive cases, of which 2,10,436 are active cases, 12,15,683 are recovered/discharged cases and 9,372 people succumbed to Wuhan virus.
