China, on the 5th of June, launched a rocket from a ship at sea as a part of its space programme.
The Chinese media reports said, “The Long March 11 rocket blasted off from a platform on a large semi submersible barge in the Yellow Sea just after midday (0400 GMT.)”
The rocket, which was designed to forecast typhoons by measuring sea surface winds, carried two communications satellites which belonged to China 125, a Beijing based technology company. The Company started working on launching several satellites which can provide data networking services globally.
China is working on its space programme and wants to become a major space power by 2030.
