Hyderabad witnessed the opening of an Aerospace and Defence Park in Shamshabad, on Friday.

The Aerospace and Defence Park, designed by the Adani Group, aims to create an aerospace and defence ecosystem for manufacturing equipment and enabling small and medium enterprises to carry out their operations. This Park, spanning over 50,000 square feet, has an advanced infrastructure and facilities. The Aerospace and Defence Park will also be home to India’s first private sector facility for manufacturing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs,) a joint venture by Elbit Systems and the Adani Group.

Mohammad Mahmood Ali, the Home Minister of Telangana, inaugurated the Aerospace and Defence Park. The other prominent people present at the inauguration were Jayesh Ranjan, the principal Secretary of IT and Industries, Telangana Government, Pranav Adani, the Director of Adani Enterprise, Karan Adani, the CEO of Adani Ports and SEZ and Bezhalel Machlis, the President and CEO of Elbit Systems.

The Park will soon commence its operations with the manufacture of carbon composite aerostructures for Hermes 900 and Hermes 450. The main purpose of the facility is to meet the needs of the global market and to manufacture and assemble UAVs.

Companies such as Comprotech, AutoTEC, Alpha Tool and Alpha Design Technologies, which supply to HAL, BDL, BEL and global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs,) will set up their facilities at the Aerospace and Defence Park.
