Along the Line of Control, the Indian army responded to Pakistan with a counter strike. This was in response to the death of two soldiers that were mutilated and killed by the Pakistan Armed Forces, with the involvement of terrorists.
According to a report by a popular electronic medium, the Army destroyed a Pakistani bunker near the LoC with mortar fire. This firing was launched by the Indian Army near the Krishna Gati sector in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Based on reports the bunker was gone in 60 seconds after the firing, which was celebrated by the jawans.
Last week, the senior officials of the Indian Army have vowed avenge the ‘despicable act,’ wherein a jawans head was cut off and other mutilated beyond recognition. A senior officer speaking to a popular news daily said, “While fire assaults are already under way in different sectors of the LoC, the retaliation for Pakistan army’s inhuman act will be well planned and executed at a time and place of our choosing.”
On May 1, two Jawans of the Indian Army, who were on patrol duty near the LoC were killed in the firing by Pakistani Border Action Team and terrorists. The bodies were found two days later, mutilated beyond recognition and dumped near the Poonch district.
The Indian Army’s Northern Command, in a statement, said, “Pakistan army carried out unprovoked rocket and forward mortar firing on two forward posts along the LoC in Krishna Ghati sector. Simultaneously, BAT action was launched on a patrol operating in between the two posts.” The Indian Army vowed to take revenge, which they achieved on Monday.
