Two militants were killed, on the 13th of April, in an encounter between militants and security forces in Shopian district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The gunfight broke out between the militants and the security forces after the militants fired at the security forces during a search operation. The security forces launched a search operation based on the intelligence information about the militants hiding in Gahand area of Shopian district.
A Jammu and Kashmir Police official said, “Following a brief shoot out in the orchard area of Gahand village the two terrorists were killed. Their exact identities and affiliations are being ascertained.”
According to the security officials, ammunition was also recovered from the encounter spot. The security forces and the Army officials launched a search operation and cordoned off the area.
