What happened On the 7th of October court hearing?
On the 7th of October, Aryan Khan, Bollywood Superstar Mr. Shah Rukh Khan’s son was sent to judicial custody for the next 14 days.
Highlighting the development in yesterday’s hearing, the Court remanded Aryan Khan for 14 days’ judicial custody. On the 7th of October, the Court rejected the plea of the NCB seeking extension of the custody. The Court said the extension in a case which was made on vague grounds and chats would be a violation of human rights laws.
During the Court hearing, the Mumbai High Court said, “No doubt it is the right of the NCB to claim custody… for investigation of an offence. But simply remanding the accused to police custody would amount to violation of fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution.” The Court also said, “Remand report and submissions made by the NCB were “vague”. So far as the other accused are concerned, the investigation is silent. The remand report nowhere discloses sufficient grounds to extend custody… If the previous period of police custody is considered, sufficient opportunity and time was granted to the investigating officer for interrogation of these accused.”
In addition, Mr. Satish Maneshinde, the lawyer of Aryan Khan, constantly said that Aryan Khan was a guest at a party. He was invited as VVIP to add glamour to the party and was not connected to the organisation, where drugs were found. He went to the event alone and the NCB did not find any drug essence or narcotics on him. In addition, the charge sheet and report made by the NCB accusing Aryan Khan was based on WhatsApp chats with one of the other arrested people. He also said the chats do not mention anything about drugs, but football.
