Wajid Khan, popular for his music as part of Sajid-Wajid duo in the Bollywood industry passed away on the 1st of June.
Music composer Wajid Khan died at the age of 42, due to prolonged kidney infection.
According to the doctors of Surana Hospital, Chembur, Mumbai, Wajid Khan died due to cardiac arrest. He was suffering from complications after a kidney infection and was undergoing treatment for the same.
Wajid’s brother Sajid Khan broke the news with his Twitter handle. Sajid Khan said, “He died of a cardiac arrest.”
Salim Mercha, a music composer said , “He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection… He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical.”
Actors such as Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Varun Dhawan, Bipasha Basu, Preity Zinta and others took to social media to express condolences to Wajid Khan’s sudden demise.
Amitabh wrote on Twitter, “Shocked at the passing of Wajid Khan .. a bright smiling talent passes away .. duas , prayers and in condolence.” Varun wrote, “shocked hearing this news @wajidkhan7 bhai was extremely close to me and my family. He was one of the most positive people to be around. We will miss u Wajid bhai thank u for the music.”
Twitter is flooded with condolences and messages remembering the work of Wajid Khan.
Wajid Khan under the banner name Sajid-Wajid composed many songs of Salman Khan’s movies like Dabbang, Ek Tha Tiger, Veer, Partner.
He even composed songs for Akshay Kumar in the movie, Rowdy Rathore.

The Sajid-Wajid duo recently composed Salman Khan’s ‘Bhai-Bhai’ song. Salman Khan, who was trapped in his Panvel farmhouse in lockdown, shot the song a few days ago. This song was well liked by the people and on YouTube this song has also made many records.
Wajid Khan’s burial ceremony took place at 7:45 A.M., in Mumbai and his funeral would be attended by only two of his family members and completed by 5:00 P.M., on the 1st of June.
According to sources, Wajid Khan’s last rites would be held by 5:00 P.M., today near the tomb of Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan, who passed away on the 29th of April 2020.
In the past month, Bollywood lost a few gems such as Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor and now Wajid Khan.
