Mumbai: Tanmay Bhat, a member of comedy group AIB, faced severe criticism for mocking the conversation between Indian legends Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar in a video. The video clip raised outrage by the protests. But both Sachin and Lata Mangeshkar chose to remain silent over the issue.
Finally, the much loved singer opened up about the controversial video. She said, “I have not seen the video, neither do I have any inclination to do so. I will not comment about it.” Lata Mangeshkar further stated that she didn’t even know who Tanmay Bhat was.
The censor board chief Pahlaj Nihalani said that Tanmay is a repeat offender and should not get bail, and that he should be booked under MCOCA.
