Cinema Theatres And Inox Remain Shut In Hyderabad Till Diwali

Multiplexes including Inox theaters in Hyderabad would remain shut till Diwali, the 13th of November.

While theatres across India reopened from today, the 15th of October, the Telugu State, Telangana announced it to remain shut till November.

However, a final call regarding the reopening of single screen theatres would be taken after a meeting between the Tollywood producers, exhibitors and distributors.

The meeting is likely to take place during this weekend.

One of the strong reasons to delay the reopening of multiplexes is the lack of Telugu movies to screen. Due to the nationwide lockdown since the 24th of March, many ongoing shootings and upcoming projects paused in the wake of the Novel Coronavirus.

Another major reason for putting a hold on the opening of theatres in Hyderabad is the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the State.

Telangana is witnessing an everyday spike of minimum 1,300 cases, with over 23,000 active cases and nearly 2.17 lakhs positive cases.

In addition, the State recorded heavy rainfall since the past few days, making it worse for people to step outside their homes.

The heavy rainfall is likely to continue for two to three days more in Telangana.

Stay tuned for further updates.
