The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer who stopped Bollywood actor Salman Khan at the Mumbai Airport, was rewarded for his professionalism.

Recently on the 20th of August, a CISF officer Somnath Mohanty, who is a native of Odisha, stopped the Dabbang of Bollywood, Salman Khan at the Mumbai Airport and asked him to get his paper checked by the security checkpoint. The incident was reported by several media houses and gained the attention of netizens, praising the officer for discharging his duty without being biased.

However, later, in a tweet on the micro blogging site which claimed the officer got into trouble for speaking up to the media and stopping the biggest Bollywood star.

Responding to the tweet, the CISF took to Twitter and clarified the matter. The CISF said the tweet claiming that Mr. Somnath Mohanty was punished for his action was baseless and false. Instead, the officer was praised and rewarded for doing his duty without any failures. The tweet by the CISF read, “The contents of this tweet are incorrect & without factual basis. In fact, the officer concerned has been suitably rewarded for exemplary professionalism in the discharge of his duty (sic.)”

On the 20th of August, Bollywood actor Salman Khan and actress Katrina Kaif were spotted at the Mumbai Airport. They were reportedly headed to Russia to shoot their upcoming movie Tiger 3. Directed by Manish Sharma, the movie is the franchise of the last two movies, Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai.
