Devadas Kanakala, a famous Telugu actor and director, passed away, on the 2nd of August, in Hyderabad, Telangana.
Devadas Kanakala, 74 years old, was suffering from prolonged illness and died at a hospital in Hyderabad, on Friday evening.
The news of Devadas’s demise was confirmed by his son, Rajeev Kanakala. Rajeev announced the sad news, after which many celebrities and political leaders conveyed their condolences to Devadas’s family.
Born on the 30th of July 1945 in Yanam, Devadas Kanakala was a graduate from the Pune Film Institute. He started his career as a theatre director and trained actors like Chiranjeevi, Rajinikanth, Rajendra Prasad and Bhanchander.
As an actor, Devadas worked on movies like Gorintaku, Siri Siri Muvva, Manchu Pallaki and Gang Leader. The last film of which Devadas Kanakala was a part was the Mahesh Babu starrer Bharat Ane Nenu (2018.)
Devadas Kanakala is survived by his two kids, Rajeev Kanakala and Sri Laxmi. Rajeev Kanakala is married to Suma and both of them are Tollywood celebrities.
Devadas Kanakala’s wife Laxmi Devi passed away recently in 2018.
The last rites of Devadas Kanakala will be performed on the 3rd of August in Hyderabad.
K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, expressed his condolences to the family of Devadas.
Many other celebrities also took to Twitter and expressed grief over the demise of Devadas Kanakala.
