Hyderabad Police Denies Pre Release Permission Of Pawan Kalayan’s Vakeel Saab

On the 31st of March, the Hyderabad Police rejected the pre release permission of Pawan Kalyan’s much awaited movie Vakeel Saab.

The decision was taken in the wake of the surge in COVID-19 cases across Telangana. In addition, on the 29th of March, during the pre release trailer launch, fans gathered and created a ruckus at the pre theatrical trailer release. Fans aggressively broke windows and were pushing each other to enter the theatre. The videos and pictures of the incident went viral on all social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram.

All multiplexes and single screen cinemas in the two Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, screened the official trailer of Vakeel Saab. Many even gathered outside the cinema halls to put cutouts of Pawan Kalyan and were engaged in festive moods to celebrate his comeback to the silver screen. The actor turned politician is making a comeback to the screen after a hiatus of three years.

After the theatrical trailer release and the mass gathering at the event, the Hyderabad police refused to continue with the pre release of the movie.

The pre release event was supposed to be held on the 3rd of April at Yousufguda Police Grounds in Hyderabad. J Media Factory applied for the pre release event permission with a capacity of 6000 audiences. The makers spent around Rs. 1 crore for the pre release of the film. The rejection by the Hyderabad police comes after Telangana was recently ordered to avoid public gatherings in huge masses amid a rapid surge in the Novel Coronavirus cases.
