“Kabali” Director Pa Ranjith: I Don’t Want To Be Known As A Dalit Filmmaker

Chennai: “I don’t want to be known as a Dalit filmmaker,” says the Pa. Ranjith, the director of super hit film titled “Kabali”. His recent offering “Kabali”, starring super star Rajinikanth in the lead, is running successfully in packed houses across the globe. The movie managed to impress the fans and global audience with its plot and Rajini’s style.

Speaking about the success of the film, Ranjith said, “I don’t want to be known as a Dalit filmmaker. I touch upon caste inequalities in my films because I’ve been affected by it. Even if I don’t belong to the oppressed community, I would have continued to speak about inequalities in the society.”

Written and directed by Pa. Ranjith, “Kabali” emerged as a blockbuster with its incredible collections at the box office. The action drama features Rajini as an ageing don of Malaysia and actress Radhika Apte playing his wife.
