A man who is said to be a fan of Bollywood actress Kangana Raut was arrested from south Kolkata on the night of the 10th of September.
According to sources, the man identified as Palash Bose, a resident of Tollygunge allegedly dialed Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and threatened him.
A senior police officer of the Kolkata police said, “The man identified as Palash Bose, a resident of Tollygunge, was arrested by a team of Mumbai Police. He would be produced at the Alipore court today for transit remand.”
The alleged threat call of Mr. Bose comes days after Kangana Ranaut and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut’s Twitter fight.
Recently, Ms. Ranaut took to Twitter and compared Mumbai situation to PoK, following which the two Ms. Ranaut and Sanjay Raut, engaged in a Twitter war.
Speaking about Palash Bose, the Kolkata police said, Palash threatened the Shiv Sena MP with “dire consequences.”
The matter came to light after the Mumbai Police contacted the Kolkata police and demanded the arrest of Palash Bose.
According to media sources, Sanjay Raut is not the only politician to receive threats.
Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, Home Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh and other ministers also received phone calls.
The threat calls came a day after a case was registered against the actress for using derogatory comments against the CM of Maharashtra. On the 10th of September, an advocate of a Mumbai court filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the actress for using ‘Tu’ for CM Uddhav Thackeray. The case is under investigation.
Meanwhile, Twitteratis are also having divided opinions regarding the matter. While half of them are demanding justice for Kangana Ranaut, the other half are criticising her for comparing Mumbai to Pakistan.
Besides this, demolition of Kangana Ranaut’s office by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation added fuel to the ongoing war between the actress and the Maharashtra Government.
The Mumbai civic body recently demolished a portion of her office in Bandra alleging illegal alterations to the sanctioned plan.
In addition, the actress has been given Y plus security since she landed in Mumbai, approved by the Maharashtra Government.
