The Kannada movie industry lost a valuable playback singer on Wednesday. L.N. Shastri who was a singer and music composer passed away at his residence in Bangalore.
The well renowned 46 year old musician was suffering from cancer that took his life.
Singer Vijay Prakash who previously worked with Shastri said, “Shastri’s demise is a great loss to the Kannada film industry.”
Shastri took his last breath at his home in Nagarbhavi area. His wife, Suma Shastri who is also a singer was broken up to make a statement.
The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah expressed sadness and said, “The news of the death of L.N. Shastri brings me a lot of pain.”
Shastri started his career in 1991 and in 1996 his hit song “Kolumande Jangamadevaru” from the movie “Janumada Jodi” released making him one of the most sort after musician in the industry.
Shastri composed music for around 25 Kannada films and has sung more than 3,000 songs during his career.
