The Madras High Court (HC) recently cleared the ongoing case against the Tamil feature film 100.
On the 3rd of May, the Madras High Court stayed the release of 100, starring Atharvaa Murali. Justice S. Vaidyanathan reviewed the petition filed by 70MM Entertainments and its partner, producer T.N. Arun Balaji, against the release of the movie.
According to the petition, T.N. Arun Balaji filed a complaint against MG Auraa Cinemas Private Limited, the production house of 100, which owed an amount of Rs. 1 crore to 70MM Entertainments. Instead of paying the outstanding funds, MG Auraa Cinemas Private Limited used the money for the production of 100.
The petitioner said in April, Mahesh Govindaraj, the Managing Director (MD) of MG Auraa Cinemas Private Limited, handed over a cheque of Rs. 1 crore to 70MM Entertainments. However, the cheque bounced as Mr Govindaraj’s account was already closed.
Because of the amount due, the Madras High Court, on the 3rd of May, issued a stay order on the release of the film.
However, recently, the Madras High Court removed the ban and cleared the way for the Tamil movie 100 to be streamed on OTT platforms.
With this clearance now official, Mango Mass Media is now authorised to publish the movie online.
Directed and written by Sam Anton, 100 is an action thriller starring Atharvaa Murali and Hansika Motwani as the leads. 100 also features Radha Ravi, Yogi Babu and others as the supporting cast.
