Malayalam screenwriter and director K.R.Sachidanandan popularly known as Sachy, passed away on the 18th of June, in Thrissur, Kerala.
Sachy passed away at the age of 48 years due to a cardiac arrest.
He felt pain in the chest and was admitted to Jubilee Mission Medical College Hospital in Thrissur, Kerala on the 16th of June.
According to source, K.R. Sachidanandan was in a critical situation and was on ventilator support.
A criminal lawyer by professional degree, Sachy quit his law practice to enter cinema.
He made his debut in the Malayalam film industry as a screenwriter. His first movie Chocolate as a screenwriter was released in 2007. He was working in collaboration with famous Malayalam writer Sethu for his first movie Chocolate.
Sachy’s other films as co-writer with Sethu wer Robin Hood, Makeup Man, Seniors and Doubles.
Later in 2010, after 3 years of experience, Sachy worked on his first independent film as a screenwriter. He was also a famous director and producer in the Malayalam film Industry.
His first film as an independent screenwriter was Run Baby Run, released in 2012.
Sachy made his directorial debut with his film Anarkali, released in 2015.
Sachy wrote for films like Makeup Man (2011,) Seniors (2012,) Chettayees (2012,) Ramaleela (2017,) Sherlock Toms (2017,) and Driving Licence (2019.)
Many Malayalam film industry celebrities expressed condolences to K.R. Sachidanandan’s demise.
Pinarayi Vijayan, the Chief Minister of Kerala, expressed grief and said, “Sachy was a noted Malayalam movie director and screenplay writer. He was behind many hit movies in Malayalam. With the untimely death of Sachy, (the) Malayalam movie industry lost a talented artist.”
The cremation of late Sachy would be held at Ravipuram, Kerala on the afternoon of the 19th of June.
