Chief Minister Nitish Kumar led the Bihar Government has decided to recommend a CBI inquiry in actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi said the move showed it was merely politics for the Bihar chief minister.
In a tweet, Priyanka Chaturvedi also said that the decision for a CBI probe can only be taken by the Maharashtra government. She said that the Bihar police or the government has no locus standi on this matter.
Slamming Nitish Kumar over his statement, Priyanka Chaturvedi also said the Bihar chief minister’s statement was not on the basis of the constitutional legalities or getting Sushant Singh Rajput justice.
The Shiv Sena leader said, “The statement from Bihar CM as being reported by media, if true, shows it is merely politics for him¬ basis of constitutional legalities or getting Sushant justice. Law&Order is state subject, CBI decision can only be taken by Maha Govt. Bihar police&govt have no locus standi.”
Actor Rhea Chakrabortys lawyer has also said the Bihar government cannot recommend a CBI probe in actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death when police from that state do not have any jurisdiction to even investigate the case.
There cannot be a transfer of a case that had no legal basis to begin with for the Bihar police to get involved. At the most, it would be a Zero FIR which would then be transferred to Mumbai Police, Chakraborty’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde said in a statement.
Nitish Kumar said on Tuesday that the Bihar government has decided to recommend a CBI inquiry in the actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case after the deceaseds father made a request for it.
“Bihar DGP (Gupteshwar Pandey) had a talk with the late actors father K K Singh today. DGP has informed me that the father has asked for a CBI probe into the case,” Nitish Kumar said.
The Chief Mnister said he told the Director General of Police (DGP) to initiate necessary steps to immediately send a proposal to the state government in this regard.
Nitish Kumar said, “The State Government would formally recommend the case to be handed over to the CBI today itself after completing all the procedures and formalities.”
Twitter users also are demanding a CBI probe in the actor’s death.
