Republic TV Editor In Chief Arnab Goswami Arrested

On the morning of the 4th of November, the Mumbai Police arrested Arnab Goswami, the Editor in Chief of Republic TV.

According to sources, the arrest was in connection with a suicide case.

Though the case was closed in 2019 by the Raigad Police, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh directed the Maharashtra Crime Inspection Department (CID) to re open the case and investigate the suicide of Anvay Naik and Kumud Naik.

Sachin Vaje, the CIU Inspector said Mr. Goswami has been arrested under Section 306 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.)

Meanwhile, Arnab Goswami claimed the Mumbai Police physically assaulted him while arresting, as around 10 policemen entered Arnab’s house and arrested him.

Arnab Goswami is likely to be taken to Raigad for further investigation in connection with this case.

The arrest of Arnab Goswami came days after the TRP scam case.   Arnab Goswami’s channel TV Republic was also named in the TRP Scam case and a case was registered against the senior employees of the channel.
