Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty filed a defamation case against 29 media houses for printing and publishing articles against her and her husband Raj Kundra.
Recently, after Raj Kundra was arrested kn a porn content case, the media houses have made him and his wife Shilpa Shetty their front page headlines with variousBombay High Court on Friday heard the defamation suit filed by Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty against media houses where social media platforms are also respondents. Court pulled up Shilpa’s lawyer and said, “Do you expect the court to sit and check the sources cited in every media report? If anyone says anything about Shilpa Shetty, it becomes a big thing. You chose public life. Public life has this side.”
Meanwhile,Raj Kundra, business tycoon and Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband, has been given judicial custody for 14 days.
On the 27th of July, the Bombay High Court granted police custody to Raj Kundra and his aide, Ryan Thorpe, in the sensitive pornographic content case.
With the latest development, Raj Kundra and Ryan Thorpe would be in police custody for the next two weeks.
According to sources, Raj Kundra was arrested on the 19th of July, in a case of streaming and producing porn content through a mobile application. The Mumbai Police Crime Branch arrested him and charged him under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.)
The case has brought trouble for the couple, especially in work lines. After the news went viral, big brands cancelled their endorsement, Shilpa Shetty was removed as the judge of Dance+ and lots of financial issues started arising.
Addressing a media source, she said, “…family’s reputation was ruined, their endorsements in the industry were being cancelled and that she had to give up many projects.”
However, so far no involvement of the actress (Shilpa Shetty) has been reported, as there is no evidence against her.
