Shoojit Sircar Calls For A Ban On Children’s Reality Shows

Ban On Children Reality Shows, no more Children Reality Shows,Sabse Bada Kalakar, Junior Masterchef, Li'l Champs,Super Dancer,Shoojit Sircar tweet

The children’s reality shows on TV have always been a matter of conflict around the world. They have time and again received flak from all across the globe, which can be well deserved. The full makeup faces and competition is not only robbing them of their childhood, but also developing an unhealthy competition further in life.

In recent times, India has also seen a sudden increase in reality shows for and with children. Some of them are Super Dancer, Sabse Bada Kalakar, Junior Masterchef, Li’l Champs and many more. They attain high TRPs owing to the overdose of adorable children. But what very few know is that these shows behind the screen are anything but fun.

The most recent one to speak up about this issue is the Piku fame director and Pink producer, Shoojit Sircar. On his Twitter account, Sircar called for a ban on shows involving children. He wrote, “Humble request to authorities to urgently ban all reality shows involving children. It’s actually destroying them emotionally and their purity.”

The tweet has brought to notice the issue that has been undercover for long. It has received as many as 8.2 K likes and also 4.9 K retweets.

Sircar, through his movies over time, has addressed sensitive issues. Thorugh Pink, he addressed how women are stereotyped on their regular activities, including how they dress, how they speak and how many partners they had. In Piku he addressed the bond between a father and daughter beautifully.

His most recent short film, Release the Pressure, dealt with how a bunch of young students approach their parents about the pressure that they undergo to succeed in exams and life as well.

With this tweet, Sircar hopes to bring in some good change, and we hope someone listens and takes the required action.
