Taapsee Pannu Tweets About Recent IT Raid, Takes Dig At Union FM Indirectly

Days after the Income Tax (IT) raid at her property, actress Taapsee Pannu broke her silence about the raid.

The actress took to the micro blogging site, Twitter and said, “alleged bungalow” in Paris, the “alleged receipt” of Rs. 5 crore and her “memory of 2013 raid.”

Ms. Pannu posted a three point statement on Twitter.

Taapsee Pannu said, “Three days of intense search of 3 things primarily 1.The keys of the ‘alleged’ bungalow that I apparently own in Paris. Because summer holidays are around the corner,” read the first post. The second said, “2. The ‘alleged’ receipt worth 5 crores to frame n keep for future pitching coz I’ve been refused that money before.” The third dealt with Sitharaman’s comment. “3. My memory of the 2013 raid that happened with me according to our honourable finance minister P.S- ‘not so sasti’ anymore.”

Ms. Taapsee also took a jibe at Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s statement that the actor was raided in 2013 as well.

The jibe at the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman came after her recent comment on the raid at the actress’ residence. On the 5th of March, Ms. Sitharaman said, “First of all, I am not commenting on any A or B individual. (But) since the names were taken, (I want to say) the very same names were raided in 2013. It wasn’t an issue (in 2013). It’s an issue now.”

Recently on the 3rd of March, the Income Tax (IT) Department searched the homes and offices of Ms. Pannu, Director Anurag Kashyap and other celebrities.

The searches were being carried out in over 30 locations in Mumbai and Pune. Besides them, the search carried out at the properties of Madhu Mantena and Vikas Behl.

The search was carried out in connection with the 2018 dissolved film production company named Phantom.

According to the sources, Charges of tax evasion have been brought against the now-dissolved film production company.
