Telangana: Akkineni Nagarjuna Promises To Adopt Forest And Be Part Of 'Green India challenge'

Tollywood king Akkineni Nagarjuna joined hands with the Telangana Government’s new ‘Green India Challenge.’

Launched in 2018 by Mr. J. Santosh Kumar, the Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS,) the initiative aims “Hara hai to bhara hai” (If it’s green, it’s bountiful.) Many celebrities and citizens of Telangana took part and planted saplings in the State.

The latest name on the list is King Akkineni Nagarjuna, who said he would adopt 1,000 acres of reserved forest area. During his show, Bigg Boss Telugu 5, host Nagarjuna invited MP Mr. J. Santosh Kumar as a guest. During an interaction with him, he promised to adopt a forest and plant saplings. He also asked, during the course of time, how many saplings had been planted so far. It is to be noted, under the initiative of Mr. J. Santosh Kumar, as many as 16 crore saplings have been planted in Telangana.

Recently,Tollywood actor Prabhas also adopted 1,643 acres of a forest area to plant saplings.

The spirit of “Green India Challenge” is spreading amongst the people of Telangana. Actors and celebrities are also taking part, creating awareness and asking their fans and followers to join hands and support the initiative.
