On Thursday night, Kathi Mahesh a Telugu film critic had Eggs hurled at him by Pawan Kalyan fans. This is not the first time the fans of the actor turned politician have attacked Mahesh. Earlier the fans made an organized campaign dedicated to troll Kathi Mahesh.
A news channel reported that Kathi was traveling in a cab when the incident happened. Kathi was at Cyber Towers in Madhapur, Hyderabad when eggs were thrown at him.
The cab driver narrated the incident and said he picked Kathi up from the TV9 office in Banjara Hills. The cabby said he was taking the critic to another channel in Kondapur and Kathi had his window rolled down. The cab driver was quoted saying, “One guy threw something from outside. I couldn’t see anyone (clearly). If I saw, I would have definitely stopped them. Nobody could understand who the assailant was.”
Kathi has stated he suspects the attack was done by of one Pawan Kalyan’s ardent follower and demanded the actor respond to this attack.
The Telugu film critic said, “This is the first time that I’m filing a case. So far, for everything that has been happening in the public domain, I have wanted to sort it out in the public domain itself. Now, there is no option but to pursue it legally, because what occurred now is illegal.”
Criticising Jana Sena, Kathi said that if people like Kalyan can come to power then these kinds of attacks can happen to anyone, not just him.
On Friday, The Osmania University Students’ Joint Action Committee condemned the attack and burnt cutouts of Pawan Kalyan. Kathi Mahesh has got a lot of hate for his criticism against the Jana Sena Party Chief. Kathi had once termed the Jana Sena Party as authoritarian. After this, his phone number was circulated in fan groups and people were asked to abuse and troll Kanti.
