Vogeti Naga Venkata Ramana Murthy, a renowned Tollywood music director, marked his name with a new Guinness World Record for the longest marathon church organ playing.
Vogeti Naga Venkata Ramana Murthy popularly known as Swara Veenapani, played the 72 Melakarta ragas continuously for 61 hours and 20 minutes at an event in London.
Swara Veenapani started to play a Church organ on the 30th of September at 5:00 A.M. He broke the previous record of 60 hours, 1 minute and 25 seconds, set by Nina Irslinger of Norway.
Vogeti Naga Venkata Ramana Murthy, the founder of Swaranidhi, played at the event organised by the United Kingdom (U.K.) Telugu Association (UKTA) in partnership with The Bhavan of UK, Vennam Foundation of the United States of America (U.S.A.,) and Swaranidhi of India. The event, ‘Sound of Music,’ was a 63 hour non stop marathon of 72 Melakarta Ragas of Indian music to make the Guinness World Record.
The event started at 5:00 A.M., on the 30th of September and continued till the 9:00 P.M., on the 2nd of October.
The event was organised to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and was held at The Bhavan in West Kensington, London.
